I know they are uncomparable but I'm wondering whether to spend £400 on an ET1 now and wait a while until HDMI is neccesary when probably something like the panasonic will be £400 cheaper anyway! any thoughts?

£400 for the ET1 sounds good value, I remember seeing this for £750 at Costco (a wholesaler) back when I was considering which PJ to buy. I'm not sure of its performance, it looks to be aimed more at people who want a "style statement", but I'm sure it will do a decent job.

Even though the TX100 is HD ready I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't take advantage of it. By the time HD players/material is pervasive/cheap enough to go mass market I'll probably be looking to upgrade the PJ! For now "good old" component does a find job...PJ
