    Hi Guys,

I have a Toshiba DR-160 Recorder and am using Sony x16 spin discs. When I put the discs in to record it loads for a while then gives me a error. Power Calibration Area is full. I'm getting about 1 in 4 discs working ok.

Is this the recorder or crappy discs ?

Also is it worth getting component leads or sticking to scart ?

    Thanks

Turns out it was the recorder, Toshiba replaced no questions.

Excellent result, Top marks to Toshiba.

Surely only top marks if the unit hadn't gone wrong in the first place .....

no such thing as a perfect production cycle in AV equipment (or to be honest any thing..lol) so you have to expect that sometime in your life you'll get a duff unit.....but for them to do a straight swap out without hassle i think is worthy of Top Marks......especially compared to the way some companies try to worm out of responsibility nowadays ;)
