My Toshiba DR-1 has just thrown a wobbly when i timeslip the picture freezes after 40-50 mins and you have to take it off timeslip i tried formatting the disc in the Toshiba it would not do it and then tried a second disc it was ok for 2/3 days then same thing !,
i formatted the first disc on my PC with a LG ram dvd drive and it was fine on the PC.
So does any one know what the problem is, it plays other discs ok no worries. If it is not fixable what would any one recommend as a replacement Dvd Recorder i really want a time slip feature and Dvd- as the disc format.

Many of the new 3x DVD-RAM discs have CPRM (copy protection mode). This is causing problems between the LG pc drive and the Panasonic E85 dvd recorder.

Maybe the problem is something similar.
