Toshiba C3030 Series [Settings Thread]

I am shortly about to obtain one of these sets and I know a few people on here have already got their's or have ordered one.

Thought it would be nice to have a seperate thread purely for the settings people are using whether it be general use, for DVD's or HD and games consoles.

i'm sure these setting will apply on all models from 32" to 42" so post away and then others and myself will be able to use these as a guide and experiement then perhaps post their own settings.

:lease:

I'll bump this one because I'd like to know what settings people are using too.

Normal SD TV looked fine at first, then I adjusted the settings to pander to my PS2 but it changed the signal for normal TV signals as well. The result is that TV looks a little rougher round the edges than before.

Anybody worked out how to get different settings for different inputs?

Works well, especially for the HUMAX, much less pixalated:smashin:

The settings out of the box are horiffic  to say the least so do the opposite and get that backlight way down (will save your screen in the long run too ;) ).

Try these, preferably in an almost dark room (small light on in the background)

Backlight 25-30
Contrast 95-100
Brightness 65-70
Colour 40-45
Black Stretch - OFF
Colour Management - OFF
MPEG NR - OFF
Active Backlight - OFF
Tint +20
Shapness -12

Works for me :)

Been playing with mine and heres how I have my 32" set-up

Backlight 18 (lower at night)
Contrast 100
Brightness 70
Colour 45
Everything else OFF!
Tint 0
Sharpness -27

Looks good for me but it's all in the eye of the beholder eh?!?

Hi all,

I tried a basic setup with a Video essentials DVD via a S-VHS connections althougth I havent got the blue, green, red filter things to set up colour correctly.

The below settings seem pretty good so far (sky is a bit hit and miss for me thougth -maybe down to bitrates)

Settings are:
Backlight 32
Contrast 92
Birghtness 52
Colour 29
Tint 0
Sharpeness +3

Black Stretch OFF
Mpeg OFF
Noise Off
Cinema On (didnt notice any differance)

Mpeg and noise might be worth trying turned on low.

Anyway much much better than out of the box

I've got a 37".

Active Backlight OFF
Backlight 50
Contrast 100
Brightness 54
Colour 36
Tint 0
Sharpness -20
Black stretch Off
MPEG NR Off
DNR Off
Colour temp Warm

I have to say I am still playing around with it though. This setup seems to the best compromise I can come up with for watching Blue Ray discs, Standard Def discs, Freeview and playing a few games on the PS3.

Close to the above but with Brightness at 40 & Colour at 45.

I would have a dabble with settings yourself first and then compare against other settings.
Interesting to see if other peoples settings vary greatly or like mine and ianwhiscombe are very similar ;)
