but it won't play region 1 discs for me.

Sorry if the answer is obvious but can I modify it with the handset.

LE Concepts did say it would be multi-region "out of the box" before they shipped it to me.

If anybody can help I would be so grateful.

It should just play them straight off. Out of interest what discs are you trying? Some RCE discs sometimes need the player to already be in R1 mode so you would need to load a non-RCE disc first of all until the player changes region and then put in the RCE disc.

Thanks Jase but I did try what you said and it still won't play Star Wars Region1.

I guess LE Concepts didn't mod it therefore I need to send it back to them. Maybe?

Does sound like they've not modded it. There's no handset hack that I'm aware of so you'll need to get them to send you another and pick that one up.

Careful with this. My player was modded by those awefully nice people at Techtronics.....and not any old R1 disc would drop it into R1 mode. Techtronics said you should play a disc past the FBI warning to make sure it was properly locked to R1. Fair enough but the only disc that could carry out the change faultlessly was R1 Hannibal. May I suggest you try a few R1 discs before sending the player back.

Funny ive never ever had a disc that wont play on this machine.

Try putting a R2 non RCE disc in, then a R1 non RCE disc in.

If a message scrolls across the front LCD display saying something like 'R1 RESTIRCTED' then your player is definitely not moded/chipped.

    Hope that helps!?!

I was encouraged to buy this player because of comments like "every disk I have put in there it has played without any problems"

I have done the R2 disc followed by R1 disc but no luck. There is a message across the fron that says REGION RESTRICTION.

Shame, I'll have to send it back

Dave when my Tosh arrived from LE Concepts a year ago Im 99% sure there was some home-made type sticker on the outside of the box to say "mult-region" or it could have been indside:rolleyes: I can't remember.
I know its a pain to send it back, but, I'm sure they will do it, its worth it m8,

    enjoy Steve

Since I purchased my 900e from L E Concepts only a couple of weeks ago I thoroughly checked it last night and it does accept the disks you mention without any problems. In fact, so far it has played everything I've thrown at it with no region swap problems at all.
    Send it back:mad:

I would demand LE Concepts pay for return postage & postage cost for the replacement. After all if you requested for a multi-region version that's what you should get; IMO you shouldn't have to pay for these two charges- how much will it be; approx another £30 in total?

Bought mine from LE Concept last year and i've never had a R1 disc that will not play.

On the outside of the box it says"professionally modified to play all six regions"

Okay we got it fixed and I should be too embarassed to even admit to this but it proves how little I know about AV!

Under video settings it was set to PAL and I had to change it to AUTO. LE Concepts told me to do that.

I don't want to be critical but nobody on this forum gave the same advice!

And: you would have though if they modded the player thye would have changed the dsetting for me.

    Anyway thanks all.

    Dave

    PS Bloody good picture.

Thanks for sharing that info, I didn't know that (there was nothing inside my box stating this), so I could have ended up in the same position as you.
    Nothing to be embarassed about
