Toshiba 55L7200U question about 3d movies (downloaded)

First post here and not quite tech savvy so here goes:

I bought the above mentioned 3dtv and have several downloaded 3d movies in several formats (mp4, avi, wmv, mkv). When I transfer them to a usb stick and play them through the tv the screen is either split (side by side and sometimes top and bottom) or it says "media not supported".

Help?

You have to turn on 3d on the tv m8 otherwise your have the split screen what your getting.
As for the some of the files not paying your best checking what format ya tv can play first.
