I am about to upgrade my Toshiba 210 DVD player for either a Toshiba 530 or Pioneer 565. Both £200!

Pioneer has upper hand on formats, being DVD-a & SACD (Toch DVD-A only) but Toshiba appears to have more comprehensive Progressive Scan capabilities (according to LEConcepts.com).

    1. What exactly does PS do?
    2. Will I need it with my regular widescreen TV or is it something reserved for plasma & rear projection TVs?

    1. Have a look under the Progressive scan section of this forum.

    2. If your telly isn't progressive scan compatible and you don't plan on getting one then don't worry.

SACD & DVD-A rocks....when you can find a disc you like.
