I don't have prog scan, and only need 5.1 and a great picture.

Is the Sony worth the extra £100?

I've had a 905 since October and I'm very pleased with its picture quality, the on board decoders are a hit and a miss. This machine does suffer from the typical Sony layer change delay, but the rest of the picture performance is outstanding. The DTS decoding is strong and gives good bass, the DD is quite poor, lacking any real extension. As a cd player it's excellent, can't comment on sacd.
    For £320 I think it's a real AV bargain.
