When watching region 2 DVD's with the prog scan enabled on my DVD player the top 4cm's on the screen flicker all the was across.

Any Tosh owners here get the same problem?
I reported it to the retailer I purchased it from and they told me it was a know feature on this set that Toshiba are aware of.
Thing is when trying this TV in my local comet I tried region 2 DVD's and I didn't see this problem (its so noticeable im sure I would have seen it straight away)

Im thinking of phoning Toshiba myself and asking as the manual does say on the back that EXT 4 (component) is progressive scan compatible.

Any suggestions or comments from anyone would be greatly received

    Many thanks

    Dean

No problems here Dean, so I doubt it's a known problem.
Even if it was a known problem, my question would be 'what are Tosh doing about this 'known problem''!

I watch all my DVD's via prog scan from my Denon 2910.

    Regards,
    Chris.

Thanks for the reply Chris. I think ill give Tosh a call and see what they say. Im sure its a way of the company I bought the set from trying to fob me off so they do not have to do anything.
The company in question are not that helpful, the first time I phoned I was passed straight through to the manager who kept moaning about all the geeks he get phoning up thinking they know more then he does. Very professional!!

I watch all my dvd's by prog scan aswell and certainly dont get flickering..

"the first time I phoned I was passed straight through to the manager who kept moaning about all the geeks he get phoning up thinking they know more then he does. Very professional!!"

I have had that before with a mobile phone company when i got through to speak to the MD, he thought he would give me a lesson in economics over the phone, i have never been so patronised in my whole life.

Well I phoned Toshiba who said they have not heard of this problem before and it certianly isn't a feature and that an engineer needs to look at it. So I phoned the retailer and told them this to which I was told that they would discus it with their line manager and phone me back in the afternoon. Did they? Of course not, ill have to chase them up again today.

Razor, not sure if I can name and shame on the forum? Ill PM you the company name.

You can name them, but first read carefully "What you can and can't say about people..." in the forum rules
