I HAVE HAD THE ABOVE TV FOR TWO WEEKS AND CONNECTED VIA THE COMPONENT VIDEO INPUTS OR RGB VIA A PACE SKY BOX THE PICTURE IS SUPERB.THE FLY IN THE OINTMENT IS SETTING UP THE CONVERGENCE. IT IS EASY ENOUGH TO SET UP BUT IT DOES NOT KEEP THE SETTINGS.TO ILLUSTRATE THE POINT THE CONVERGENCE WAS FINE WHEN THE SET WAS SWITCHED OFF LAST NIGHT. TODAY SWITCH THE SET ON ,GO INTO THE CONVERGENCE SET UP AND IT IS WAY OUT AGAIN.SHOULD THE SET BE LEFT ON FOR A CERTAIN TIME BEFORE THIS IS SET UP? DOES ANYONE ELSE WITH A TOSHIBA BACK PROJECTION TV HAVE THIS PROBLEM?

Charles: All CRT based projection technology needs at least 20 minutes to get to operating temperature before the convergence stabilises.

Turnit on with a full screen picture for 30 miniutes or so then set convergence. You should find it stays pretty stable next time you check after it's been on for a while.

Also I've found that moving the set back and too while your trying out different cables can knock the convergence out very easily.

Once you've had the set a few more weeks thing will settle down and you'll stop thinking about it as often.

BadAss: If moving the tv around shifts convergence out enough to be a problem then there may be something needing tightening inside.

Unless of course you live in a weird part of the world where the earths magnetic field changes significantly within the space of a few feet...."queue spooky music"

I find it is best left for at least 40 minutes before making adjustments, once done, you will rarely need to do it again, maybe once every couple of months, no more.
