toshiba 42wh38 ?

    okay so whats peoples opinions on these screens
    have decided to go for rptv :clap: after seeing them and looking round but cannot see much diff
    gonna be watching dvds / playing comp games :lesson:

    tosh 42wh38 this has 5.1 built in :confused: is this corerct
    or tosh 42 wh46 been told to stay away from this one :smashin: cos the older ones are better

    Both are good. WH36 is Nicam, WH38 is dolby digital.

    Just be careful if you use it for console games and use low contrast/brightness settings when using one unless you want your tubes burnt out.

    And correct again, after seeing a WH46 I'd stay away from them.

    Don't know about the WH46,but the others are fine certainly,as are the older sets(like mine!),which has been fine from the reliability and picture viewpoints,since purchase.

    It's worth spending a bit of time after buying one to set the picture up properly,as the factory defaults are usually way too high in terms of brightness,contrast and sharpness,and the convergence will need adjusting once the set is warm.

    Once that's done,you should have an excellent picture.

    As to games etc....screen/tube burn is a potential problem,but lessened once the brightness etc are set to usable levels,and of course screen burn is a potential problem with anything other than LCD/DLP technology.
