    Ive been looking for a rear projection tv and from what ive read on these forums the toshiba 42wh36 is good value for money i can get one for £799 is this a good deal. Also what is progressive scan and what is component video. Will i be able to connect a sky digital box to this model and will it play DVD ok

    hi there for Sky you want to USE RGB scart and for best DVD results a DVD player with component outputs, PRogressive scan on a DVD player is only useful if the DVD player can do a better job of De-interlacing the signal than the TV's own De-interlacer. (if you have a £500+ DVD player it will probably do a better job than TV) If you are condidering a Shiny new DVD player to go with the NEW "BIG Telly" then read this thread mate: http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179119 its long but read all the way to the end there are twists and turns
