I am looking to order the following TV: Toshiba 42PW33

    see picture

Does anyone have this TV? Is it any good? For a LCD TV it seems pretty cheap, which makes me nervous?

Also, what does widecreen signalling mean? It says on the website it is 16:9 Aspect Ratio, but on the description it mentions widscreen signalling?

Finally, does it have progressive scan? Is that important?

It's an LCD rear projection set, not an LCD screen as such, hence why it's cheap. A 42" LCD screen will set you back about 4-5 grand. If you just meant it's cheap for an RPTV then apologies for misunderstanding the question.

I assume widescreen signalling simply means it can recognise when it's receiving a widescreen image rather than a 4:3 image and use the correct screen mode to display it. Just like a normal WS telly will have modes such as Zoom, wide, smart (to fill the screen with a 4:3 image), 14:9 etc.

Again, apologies if this is incorrect.
