I have a Toshiba 40WH08B which I am very pleased with.

If I switch to 100Hz the on-screen menus from both the tv and sky digital flicker (which they don't at 50hz) although the picture itself is rock solid.

Is this normal or do I have a problem with the TV?

    Hi,
My 46who8b doesn't but have seen many that do!

You can also see this effect on a lot of Toshiba 100hz CRT widescreens but as you say the picture is rock solid.

I don't think it is anything to worry about and if the picture without the menus is great then just enjoy it.

    Regards

I get menu flicker on 100 hz with menus on my 56 who8b - but again the pic is rock solid. Flicker was noticable when watching a video cd of stills so I now have the 10hz turned off. Couldnt notice any difference whatsoever with normal viewing so now keep mode off as a default setting.

It is normal and the 100Hz setting is the best option for general viewing and 'Natural' for Menus/Text.

Search the TV forum for a more detailed, technical explaination. I've seen one somewhere.

Thanks for the info, I'm a lot happier now.
