I have the Toshiba 36ZP48P and a modded UK xbox.
I'm thinking of buying the Official microsoft High Definition pack from the US but i'm just wondering if i'm gonna see a lot of difference when playing imported US games that run at 480p
Sorry if this is a stupid question but i have no experience with high definition whatsoever

    thx in advance

    michael

I'm in the same position as you.

Also anyone know whether the xbox media center is able to run at 480p?

I think pal games run at 480p aswell?? I hope so because i just ordered a high def cable (i have the 32" ZP48)

I have a modded xbox and used the region switcher to turn it to NTSC,but i was hoping PAL games would run at 480p??
    EDIT:
Just researched and yes you can run in 480p as long as you have a modded xbox and have an application called 'Enighma Video Switcher'.This flashes the eprom and switches from pal to ntsc .. enabling 480p support.

    95% of PAL/NTSC games support 480p..some even support 720p (like Amped 2)

    Halo/2 support 480p.
If you have Auto Installer Deluxe, then enighm,a comes preloaded with it,all you do is select it from the app launch menu.Thats what i did :D

Seems your right about PAL games supporting HD...well most of them have the code left in from the NTSC version anyway.

Can you let us know how you get on please?

    I thought the 36zp couldn't handle Hi-Def signals?? :-/

    480p technically isn't Hi-Def.

Its progressive - which means more frames per second and better quality to the eye. I think it's called EDTV.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm only a newbie :D.
