I have around £500ish to spend on a new TV...I know its not much but i'm saving for a mortgage and when I do eventually get one i'll have even less spare cash, hense buying one now.

I could spend the money getting a 2nd hand Toshiba 36ZP48 (approx 6 months old). I'm going to be using it for watching DVD's, Sky & playing X-box.

Do you think I can spend my money more wisely

Thanks

Hi guys,
I have the 32" version and can say in all honesty that it is an absolute star performer. PQ from DVD in prog-scan is sublime (using a Pioneer DV-575 and QED P-CV1 component leads).
Compared to LCD's I've seen for around the same sort of price, the Tosh literally blows them away especially when it comes to displaying blacks. There is non of the greyish/greenish blacks you see on LCD's.
For the price IMHO you can't buy better.

All the best,

Graham.

Not for £500... I 'downsized' from a Pioneer 43MXE1 plasma and I can honestly say that I prefer the picture on the Toshiba...

I have the exact same set-up as mechanic and can confirm 100% that pq is great.

I just got my set replaced due to geometry issues and so far its straight as a ruler..although it may change after a few days as it literally came this morning!
