    Hi all am new to the forum and have been really impressed with the information I have picked up from here so far.

    I am shortly going to move into a new house and take hold of;

    Toshiba 32ZP48 and SKY + and Denon DHT-500SD and a Game Cube.

    I was wondering if people could recommend me how to set these up and with what cables?

    I was looking at Profigold PGV332 1.5m Component Video Cable to connect the Denon to the Toshiba TV.
    http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/PGV332.html?id=oMCL7gk7

    I was then looking at Profigold PGD481 1m Digital Coaxial Cable to connect from the Denon to the Toshiba TV for sound?
    http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/PGD481.html

    Finally I was looking at getting Profigold PGV7000 Oxypure 1.5m High Definition Scart Lead to connect the Sky+ to the TV.
    http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/PGV7000.html

    The Gamecube will connect to the TV with the official Nintendo RGB Scart.

    So connection wise I think is like this.

    TV > Denon = Component Video Cable
    TV > Denon = Co-axial cable
    SKy + > TV = Scart
    Gamecube > TV = Scart

    Is that wrong or should I be using different cables as this is my first step into owning surround sound and a large TV. I would like to take advantage of the sound the TV and All-in-one system can produce so went for the coaxial cable.

    Any help appreciated.

    I think that you have got a bit mixed up. The component video connection from the Denon to the TV is fine as that will carry the video signal. For DVD's no digital cable is required between the Denon and the TV as the sound will be decoded within the Denon itself.

    For Sky Plus the scart between the Sky Box and the TV will carry the pictures and you will need to connect the sound from the Sky Plus box to the Denon. You can connect Sky Plus to the Denon digitally but I'm not sure whether the Sky connector is digital or optical.

    It's always a good idea to spend as much as possible on DVD interconnects but the pictures from Sky are not such good quality and you can get away with a lesser scart cable if you wish to save a few pounds

    I have found the Sky + details;

    Interfaces
    Modem telephone line
    Input from terrestrial via analogue RF.
    RF Output to primary TV Set
    RF Output to secondary location
    Left and Right Audio Outputs
    TV and VCR SCART
    S Video
    Optical Digital Audio Output
    Second card reader on front panel for interactive applications
    High Speed Data Port
    IF inputs from twin LNBs

    So I would want something like Profigold PGD561 1m TOSLink Optical Cable to link Sky + and the Denon?
    http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/PGD561.html

    Just to clarify now;

    TV > Denon = Component Video Cable
    Sky + > Denon = Optical cable
    Sky + > TV = Scart
    Gamecube > TV = Nintendo RGB Scart

    Thanks for help so far as I said I am new to this :)
