    Hi

its dilemma time,im in the market for one of these new fangled lcds
im looking for a screensize of 32 inches and its going to be fitted in the bedroom
narrowed my choice down to the 2 sets above but still dont know which one to buy :suicide:

i have the following electrical gear i need to hook up
    sky plus
    gamecube
    ps2
    xbox (with high def kit)
    sony davs550 home cinema system

id also like to hook up my laptop now and again :)

seeing how the price of these sets is pretty cheap now ie £1100 and £1250

any owners of each set wishing to sway me in the right direction

    thnx in advance

Out of the two LCD's the Samsung is the best....

Very nice for gaming and for running a PC, I felt a little let down by both sets with moving action and the TOSH had really bad ghosting/blurring on motor racing.... but that could have been down to the cheap cables used in the shop...

ooops,,, yeh I said LG .... :hiya:

    LG?

the tosh you may struggle to get hold of anyway, but the samsung is readily available for about £200 less (ie £1100), and it looks nicer imo.

I've got the Tosh 32WL48. Wonderful picture, particularly with fast moving content and you should compare this aspect with the Samsung if you can. The sound quality on the Tosh lacks depth although I am told, this is the case with all flat TVs due to restriction on speaker size. This may be worse as it has bottom speakers which restrict the size even more. I bought a Tosh home cinema system to overcome the problem.

Nothing wrong with Samsung - they may be Korean rather than Japanese but they and LG turn out superb quality.

Final point - if you are looking to wall-mount, consider this before you buy. The Tosh needs a Vogels mount (at £ 175 for the fixed model) due to mountings design. Mind you, it does look the business when its all done.

You must be kidding about the motion blurr!

I'm pretty sure the Toshiba is superior to the Samsung, BTW.

    well today was the day

first ventured into currys and looked at the samsung the salesman was terrible didnt know his arse from his elbow, also walked off midway through talking to me
    wasnt impressed

then i took a trip to comet and viewed the samsung again, very strange because the remote on the second samsung i viewed was dif to the one in currys
looked round the back of the set and noticed no component connections either came to the conclusion that there must be two dif models off this set
first set in currys had a small lcd display top right

decided i wasnt going to get the samsung and then looked at what else they had on display
also decided to go for something smaller for the bedroom after about an hour of the sales guy plugging in dvd players to various sets i decided on the lg rz 26l had all the connections i needed and was a reasonable price

currently typing this on th elg and the display is fantastic running at 1024 by 768 at 75hrz

in the process of taking a few photos and just about to hook up all the consoles

    ok few screenies here

    http://www.zen68194.zen.co.uk/

having a bit of trouble with the xbox though ive got the official ms high def component kit from the states
ive set it to ntsc using video selector and gone into the dashboard to change modes ive chosen 480 and when i load up a game i get a garbled display
turning 480 off and loading the game works fine

must say the pic is superb even if its not running at proper res it should be

it won't do 480p 0r 720p through the component lead of the x-box just 480i. The component on the lg does only 480i or 576i

main pc lives in its own little room ,apart from that i have a laptop which has been hooked up and it looks very good

would prefer a standalone dvd player maybe something like the samsung 745 just wondering if the lg is gonna be ok (able to do prog scan through dvi)

    hey,

Does anyone know anything about the RZ 27" LCD?

Cos was impressed with the 26" but would prefer the increased resolution and slightly larger size.

On a spec sheet i noticed the response time is 25ms as opposed to the 16ms of the 26" ... would think cause a noticeable loss of quality?
