Having just upgraded my 27WL46 to a 27WL56, I appear to be missing a function that the 46 had.

It is the screen mode. With my 46 model, I could select Auto for screen mode and it would automatically select Wide or 4:3 depending on the signal it was receiving, however with the 56 model, scrolling through the screen mode options I cannot see an Auto mode.

Does this mean (as I am curently doing) that I have to manually set Wide or 4:3 every time I change from a widescreen channel to a 4:3 channel ?

I can't for the life of me imagine why Toshiba would take out a feature like this on a newer model TV. Maybe I have just missed it somewhere in a menu, but it is such a pain having to manually select the different modes all the time.

Anyone know how to fix this ?

    Thanks,
    Kevin.

I think the 27WL46 is a better model. It has more functions like picture in picture.

You know, I am beginning to think that myself now. Although the main reason I "upgraded" was for the 720p support, which the 46 doesn't have.

Although saying that, I can't get 720p to work properly on my 56 (yet !)

Would still like to get this screen mode selection sorted though

    Kevin.

Is it not auto format on the Function screen mate. As for 720p i think this can only be used over hdmi as the vga just doesnt want to see it.
