I have no idea about LCD TVs, and was looking a this toshiba. How good is it for games consoles (I have component cables from digital out of my gamecube) and Dvds? It seems to have all the nice features like prog scan and HDTV, but this worried me:

    From the other thread:
    Toshiba 32WL48 - Prices - Website - 1366x768 - HDMI - 720p/50, 720p/60, 1080i/50, 1080i/60 - 1:1 HTPC

NO 720p/60? (although this is the 32" version of the TV I am looking at and I think an older model too so not sure how relevant this is) Surely this is exactly the res that I want? But I'm not really sure..

Any info or user reviews of this TV would be greatly appreciated!

    thanks.

    from the toshiba website:
    2 RGB via SCART

is that not good enough? I thought RGB was component?

by the way what is YUV? and as a side-note what is HDCP?

Yes its good enough...Specially with this set which gives excellent results on RGB scarts...
    YUV IS component :)
The signal is divided in three components: Y (luminance and sync ), U (Color difference - Red minus Y), and V (blue minus Y). Its better than RBG and the connection is with 3 cinches (red , blue ,green yes but that aint RGB ;) )

A digital copy protection system..Seems that future HD will need HDCP compatible displays , which this Toshiba isnt...

    thanks for the info!

I've already got a component cable for my Gamecube. I may have to shop around for another LCD TV that has component input. Or is this something you only get on larger TVs (I am getting 27" or less TV)?

    CONNECTIONS
    3 SCART
    2 RGB via SCART
    DVI (non HDCP enabled)
    PC compatible
    Headphone
    Composite video
    S-VHS

This says it has 'Composite Video' - Is that the same as component????

Nope, composite is below scart and above coax in terms of quality.

The 26WL36 is an older model...LCD prices move pretty quickly and the 26 should logically be cheaper than the 27WL46 (newer and bigger)

The 32WL48 is pretty different from the 27WL46 and 30WL46 models (HDMI ,YUV,etc..)

    Dont look the numbers only...
