Tosh SD2109/220 - is it worth upgrading?

    I've got a Tosh SD2109 multi-region that I bought from Richer sounds for £260 in April 2000.

I've bought myself a Tosh SD220 Multi-region for 120 from Amazon, but have just remembered that Richer sounds said I could upgrade the Tosh 2109 with them & get back 50% of the £260 I'd already paid as a discount on a new player. This would have paid for the SD220 ...

Anyway, I'm now wondering if I ought to take my SD2109 back to Richer Sounds, get £130 off a new player, put another £100/£200 max on top, & get myself a £2-300 player of some description.

    What do you reckon?

Will a £200-£300 range player be a noticeable improvement on the SD220 I'm now using (in preference to the 2109 simply because it's silver, & looks better with my new Sony KV36FS76 TV)?

Can anyone recommend a £250 player that will improve on the SD220 &/or 2109?
