    Guys,

Just bought a pack of DVD+RWs but my TOsh wont recognise them - it just sits there for ages trying to load them, and then says that they need cleaning!!
I have never used any DVD+RWs in it before (only DVD-R DVD+R & DVD-RAM) any idea what the problem might be?

    Cheers!

Toshiba has, for political reasons, blocked playback of DVD+RW discs on many of their machines - the RDXS32 included. If your using a PC DVD burner and it has the ability to set the book type to DVD-ROM then try this as it may enable them to work.

Does it not sound like he is trying to record to +RW on the Tosh 32?As we know Tosh does not support +RW recording.

I found my XS32 a bit fickle with media as it was but the +RW sounds like it's the problem here.

Nice machine but I'm glad I'm back in Panasonic land :)

As you see, the link was to the information that the XS32 does not support writing to +RW.

Thus I hoped that you hadn't bought them for recording in that machine. There was a possibility that you'd bought them, recorded in something else, then were trying to play them back.

No repetitiveness intended - by complete coincidence I posted at the same time as Phelings.

I must have missed that bit in your link - thanks.

I did buy them to record on, but they were only a couple of quid for a pack of three, and I can use them on my PC so no great loss. Thanks for your reply.
