ok a really stupid question when you turn the tv off at night does the red light stay on what i mean is how do you turn tv off completley  and not just put it into standby.
do you have to unplug from mains or just deselect the quickstart option then turn off via front panel or remote
its just im reading the manual and it says if put into standby with quickstart enabled then it eats more electricity :D

cant you just tell im technically minded!!!!! :suicide:

I hate these dam red lights on the front of electrical stuff nowdays, why on earth they are needed when the appliance is off is beyond me. I dont want a red led starring at me when i try and sleep which is what i get with the tv and dvd in the bedroom and the cd player in the living room. Its going to get to the point where i walk in to the living room at night for something and see 100 red eyes starring at me, freaky. :O)

I agree - worried me when I first got mine - plus I find it annoying in "dark" bits of films as it's bl**dy bright! I'm gonna have to stick something over it, crazy design.

 seems we're getting creative now
can i just ask though is it better to have the quickstart mode on or off

if i turn tv off with quickstart enabled is this just like putting tv into standby i.e using more power

Easily remedied - just put a tiny dab of black felt tip in front of the light. It makes it dimmer and less noticeable.
