my current dvd set up is a philips 963 with sdi mod/lumagen hdq into a pioneer 506xde tv
how much of an improvment will the xe1 be picture wise when using hd disks ?

I also use a 963 and a Lumagen. On both a 50" plasma and PJ the HD DVD image is significantly better than SD DVD from 963/luma IMO. The difference is greater with the larger PJ screen size but viewing distance is a key factor for both.

AVI

Do you mean using a DVD disc?

a hd disk in the tosh against a sd disk in the philips

The Tosh will ALWAYS win that one. No substitute for true resolution.

Just checking what we meant :)

I have exactly that, well, from time to time anyway, and yes, same movie, HD trashes SD, even on my 42". Still, the SD is very very good, just that, as Nic says, there's no substitute for 1080.

what would be the best way to connect the tosh to my lumagen ?
