Tosh & Elite via HDMI is this weird or is it just me?

I'm assuming this is a HDMI thing.....

Before, i could switch on the 360 and then change the AV input on my TV without a thought.
Granted i was using VGA back then, but now i have to make sure i change the AV input to HDMI before i switch on the 360.
If i don't and change the TV to HDMI after i've switched on the 360 i just get a blue screen

Any ideas why

Think its a common thing regarding the Tosh mine in the sig I have to have i t turned out first before i turn on my HTPC...(it is a known problem with the tosh and PCs) Not sure if this is the same thing with the elite or not thought....


That being said, I don't have that problem with my V+ box or my upscaler both connected via HDMI.
