Thought it might be a good idea just to see who see's the blurr and who doesn't, also it would be nice to know where everybody purchased there set from.

    Mine was purchased from www.empiredirect.co.uk

Yes you can recreate it - the culprit is usually a poor sky feed like Football First. Phunt I used to have this on my old Pixel Plus set and could be due to the processing of the tv.

If you are getting this with high quality sources such as progressive component DVD with a high quality disc, i would be logging it as a probable fault.

    I bought mine from HiwayhiFi.

Well ive seen it on Terminator 2 HD demo 720 through the pc and on the gadiator 3:16 test through xbox at 1080 with hi def component kit.Thats the highest quality i have at the moment, so it will be interesting to see if i can spot it tommorow through HDMI when my 945 arrives.

When the set is in HDMI mode it seems to switch off DNR etc so this could be a good test. To be honest I have to use a really dodgy feed to get any smearing and even then its only on occasions. Same for rainbows. 99% of the time the picture is sweet as.

I voted Never See it but I do, reason I voted Never See It is because I dont when Im on couch around 3.7M away but if on floor playing with kids whilst TV on, I do see it but I put that down to distance

Sorry to butt in on your poll, but can I add my twopeneth. I see blurr constantly on my 0ptoma rd50 when watching virtually any sky broadcast but have not noticed any while watching DVDs (- I had just put it down to poor broadcast quality(?) and a larger screen so more noticeable (?)

Ive seen it once, and doesnt bother me at all. Paying this sort of money for this size screen and technology i can live with it.

    hi there guys,
I bought Number 1 Tosh on Sunday afternoon, at COSTCO lakeside, brought it back to COSTCO on Monday, not because of the blurring, even though that was evident on Number 1 TV.
Got replacement on Monday from COSTCO, no quibbles.

2nd TV still has the blurring, but mainly in dark lit scenes. I shall most probably ring TOSHIBA by FRIDAY , pending another members findings, and ask TOSHIBA to sort it, if it can be sorted.

The Mrs had a little play ,,, ahem,,,, with the settings tonight,,, yessss, on the TV, and she got a remarkable improvement on the TV.

Shall be looking forward to Footie matches and see how the LIVE GAMES show up.
Altogether happy, bar the blurring. Awaiting the S97EBS player on Thursday/Friday and have a few test DVD's ready.

Will let you know on this blur as more happens as well as the HDMI player.

    Hi guys,
Have just spoken to Toshiba tech support regarding the blurring and also regarding the ''Cloudy Markings'' issues.

With regard to the cloudy marks, it is down to the lamps within the TV, even when switched off. So its part and parcel of the TV .
I also noticed that within the bag of manuals , is a 4 page leaflet '' IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR TELEVISION''
Within this it says that the display panel is manufactured to high level precision technology, i.e. Micro Display, however somtimes some parts of the screen may be missing picture elements or have luminous sposts. This is not a sign of malfunction and when viewed from a normal viewing position will not be visible.

Tosh tech support say that the cloudy mark is not a fault, but a characteristic of the working lamps.

With regard to the BLURRING issue, again i was told tha this is not a fault, however a behaviour of the colour wheels performance. Tosh tech support did suggest that either or both Contrast and Brightness level may need adjusting in order to minimise the blurring.

When i explained that a poll on avforums had 7 people with major blurring and 4 on occassions and 4 people didnt have it, and how that could be, Tosh tech support did not confirm why and how this is.

I have told Toshiba tech support of this website, and hopefully they might take me up on the offer of viewing our comments. Maybe even get some tech tips from them.

    Who knows?????????????????????????

I must say i did think it was the colour wheel when i first disclosed the blurring issue about 4 weeks ago,as i have yet to see this blurring on a 7 segment wheel. Maybe i wasn,t talking "rubbish" after all

    Well heres hoping anyway

As stated in another thread i do see it on the Gladiator 3:16 scene. Batch number J653908 from empiredirect. Though honestly i see that the advantages out weigh the disadvantages and maybe over time you will just get used to it.

No you weren't. I am certain it is a characteristic of DLP and if anyone is susceptible to the degree of not being able to live with it then they should consider switching to an alternative system. Of those people who can see the 'blurring', how many would not have noticed if it had not been brought to their attention on here? I guess it is one of those things that once you see it you will always see it.

Got mine at Costco, and I do see some blurring/rainbow effect, but nothing I can't live with. It is mainly on low quality sky feeds, watched lord of the rings via a pretty standard DVD player, and had no problems at all.

Update: Mine is batch number J653905, i only see any blurring with awful feeds. I think its down to the DNR processing.
