    Hi,

I've just purchased and installed a brand new Tosh 32ZP18Q TV and I'm well impressed with it.

The only problem I've got is that I can't seem to configure my Tosh Sd220 DVD player to work with it. I'm using component video leads and an optical audio lead but when I set up the TV as per the manual all I get is very good sound but no picture.

The DVD player was previously configured to work via SCART on the old TV.

What have I missed ??? Any help gratefully received.

    Cheers

Set the DVD player's video output to Video or S-Video. Hook it up via Component to the Tosh, select Ext 4 (I think , from memory as I used to have this TV) and you should now have a picture. The problem you're getting at the moment is that your DVD player is set up to RGB via Scart. To use Component, you need to shut off the Scart socket if you like by doing what I suggested above :).

But I can't see the setup menus on the TV either. The only way I can get anything from the DVD (picture wise) on the TV is to use SCART again !

     !!!

    Thanks Groundy.

I answered my own question. Used a SCART lead to configure the DVD player and it works a treat now.

    Cheers

    Hi Brian,

I didn't really play with the DVD via SCART - just configured the thing to use RGB (component). I will say that the colour and picture quality via the DVD player is so much better than with the old TV (thru' a low-grade SCART cable). The sound aint bad either !

    :)

    Best of luck !

I tried RGB scart and component with a tosh 210 and the same TV

the component definitely edged the RGB scart

Not as much as I was expecting

However, using components does free up the RGB AV1 scart and if you are using another device with optical out to AV1 saves a lot of messing about
