Well I WAS going to buy one of these TVs until I saw the thread full of problems. Do they really have this many problems or is this forum only really going to contain the negative points ;)

Would you advise against it and what are the other rivals?? Prog scan / component (obviously) and decent picture :)

I currently have a TX-28PK2 (Panasonic). How does it compare?

    Thanks.

You will always here more negative then positive. I have the 36" and have loved it from day 1. It has its quirks but what TV doesn't? Go and demo a set, I think its one hell of a set and at that money its great value.

I had 3 of these and they were all riddled with faults. It is certainly a lottery as to whether you get a good one.

I have the 36ZD26P and absolutely love it. You may well have to do some quite heavy calibration and service menu changes to get it 'perfect' but once you do, they're amazingly good TVs.

If it's of any use to you, I bought mine about 4 months ago and it is awesome. ANy source through it looks fantastic in my opinion, but, just as important, it is a lovely looking piece of hardware (as long as you get the proper stand as I have seen some firms not giving the proper stands away with it)

Interesting stuff, I must have overlooked this thread last tiem I was checking, this maysound horribly navie but would the 28" version of the 2d26p have similar problems, also what are the opinions of others vis a vis this particular tv? Its seems to be a bit buggy but a good tv nonetheless. Is that an accurate assemesment?

I feel for you. Toshiba tv quality control is truly atrocious.
