Japan are now on the 3rd generation DVD RAM/HDD machine RD X3, with over 5 models to choose from.

    Its simply not fair!!!!

    Panasonic need the competition.

Anyone know when these machines will reach our shores.

According to HCC current edition (the one with the Japan report) the new macine will be announced in March. It will be 120gb HDD but will not have internet connectivity that is found on the Japan models

    Hope this helps

    Deks.

ps the Panny HS2 is now discontinued. The only players available now are the existing stock. The new players replacement are yet to be abbounced but will feature at least an 80gb hard drive and may write +r (not confirmed)

The HS3 is being launched in April and will indeed feature a 80GB HDD. The machine will definetly not write to +R though - it has the same spec as the HS2 with the added ability to READ -RW disks.

Thanks for the info Rasczak. Will be buying one come April if nothing better is available :)
(got to take the plunge sometime or hang-on forever)

The guy who told me about the -R must have got mixed up with the -RW bit.

    All the best Deks
