After looking at led lenser torches I think their a bit expensive for my mum to use while dog walking (shell lose it)

Can anyone recommend a small but bright torch that she could use?

    Thanks

If you are worried about it being lost then two options spring to mind...
1: Buy cheap, the little alloy ones in Tesco / Aldi etc for about £4 are not bad for the money.
2: Put a wrist strap on the torch, then it should stay attached.

These are surprisingly decent for the money & come with batteries too. And if she mislays one there's two more!

Rolson 3pc 9 LED Torch Set

Small enough for a pocket or maybe even a keyring. I've got them dotted all over the place: in the cars, garage, shed, loft...

Sparkie are you or your mum members of Costco? They do some good inexpensive LED flashlights (pack of three flashlights is about £12-16 I think).

Costco TechLite lumen master 200 vs. Nebo Redline

Go to about 2:50 in that video and you'll see how good they are.

    It's a pack of three

I wonder if we could come up with a virtual prize for the poster who comes up with the most expensive "solution" to someone asking for a budget one? :D

I was always worried about losing or misplacing expensive torches, but actually I tend to take more care of them with out actually thinking about it. And they seem to work for ever and don't break due to poor manufacture. Cheap torch false economy.

DealExtreme do some very cheap LED torches that aren't bad at all, especially for the price!

Had one for years that is perfectly acceptable and only cost a few quid delivered.

They might sell them individually for about £4 each. If not it's worthy buying the pack as you, your mum and the dog all get a good torch. Watch the video and wait for about 10-15 seconds from 2:50 onwards to see how powerful they are compared to the other LED torch. Quite impressive actually.

I tried to buy them myself and went over to Costco not realising that you need a members card to enter the store. Only realised something wasn't right when I noticed a security guard marching up behind me as soon as I walked through the entrance. Was really looking forward to going in. Don't know if it's worth it for me as it's pretty far from where I live and I wouldn't go often. They should allow you to pay a few quid to use the shop on a one off occasion and put a cap on the amount of discount you get compared to full members.

Think they should allow you to browse, just not buy anything without a card. But then you would see that they are not really giving anything away (at least for me when I sneaked in).

We don't have "flashlights" in this country: we have "torches".

    Cheers,
    Mike.

Quite interesting what you find when you google 'powerful torches'

    Some will set paper alight.

Tesco used to see the AA 3 watt torch.

I used them for commuting on my bike so they are pretty decent, waterproof and have even fallen off my bike and been run over by a car proof !
