Toppy 5810 hard drive fail ?

Hi my 5810 has been playing up when playing back recordings.
slight picture breaking up followed by a total lock up, which means I have to pull the plug.
Last night it did it again and now it has wiped the whole hard drive and my mystuff has gone as well.
I'm not happy, has the hard drive failed or is it something else ?

Dave.

Can you see any recordings on the hard drive? Can you make any new recordings?

There are no recordings on the hard drive (lost about 50 hours) and no mystuff.
I have just set a recording and it plays fine, what happened

You would be better off posting this on (or searching through) toppy.org.uk. It may well be related to power supply unit (PSU) problems, which can easily be sorted. However, 5810s are known to be suspect with regards to hard drive lifetimes. Basically, the unit runs too hot, and this can cause a variety of faults.
