I'm dissapointed, but they do say it's better than number 1 so I can't be that bad but could have been better.

That's a shame to be honest as I quite liked the original.

I'll probably give it a miss now, unless some other reviews rate it higher. I'll wait to see what Gamespot say as I usually tend to agree with their reviews.

I wasn't going to bother with this and now I've read the review I'm definitely going to give it a wide berth. Ah well, more time for Oblivion :)

I'm suprised how low the score is considering TeamXbox are normally rate games a little on the high side for my liking. I seem to remember hearing a rumour about a demo on marketplace, I'll still probably give that a go

7.9 is good! A tenis game is never gonna get over 9 even if it was perfect. So 7.9 is more like 8.9 in the tennis world. :)

I'm sure there will be a demo on MP to try out and that's the only way I guess you'll know before buying if it's worth buying or not.

I must admit that the demo downloads have been a fantastic addition for me with the 360 as they have not only stoped me buying the odd turkey but also got me to buy games (such as Kameo) that normally I wouldn't have bought.

Where reviews are concerned I tend to find that Gamespots reviews tie in pretty well with my views. I guess the whole review discussion has been done to death many a time and we all know that some reviewers review to different scales.

Not really, IGN game the original 9.3/10 and Gamespot gave it 9.1/10.

Always been more impartial to the Virtua Tennis series myself. Now Virtua Tennis 3 on 360 would be something I'd like to see... get on it Sega!

But they say in their conclusions:

So they obviously didn't like the original much.

Only thing I find worrying is the animation if its not smooth your going to miss shots. If its as good as the original then I wont have any doubt about buying it as its the best tennis game around

Probably will give this a miss for now, a shame really as I loved the first one! I just can't justify it given the amount I've been spending on 360 games and most of them have hardly been touched.

I love the first one but two things I dont like the sound of in the new version.

1 The frame rate is sometimes poor and can cause you messing up one of your shots.

2 If you hit the A button it will do a shot but never hit the ball outside the tramline. Where is the skill in that :(

Only for the arcades at the moment. No console versions have been announced as of yet.

I think it's just been marked down for not having mind blowing next gen visuals.
I think the gameplay in Top Spin 2 will triumph, and I can't wait to play it on Live.

    Gamespot have reviewed it
    8.2/10
    http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/sports/topspin2/review.html?sid=6146970

    This bit is interesting
"On top of being a fun, well-crafted game of tennis, Top Spin 2 is being sold at a price lower than your average Xbox 360 game, making it all the more attractive."

I think it if was sold for like 30 quid (online) instead of 40 alot more people would pick it up.

yes, I'd probably pay £25-30 for it. I enjoyed the first one, but the LAG on live was not good, and for this title in particular it is vital you get NO Lag.
I think I may rent it first,

That sounds good as 8.2 is a pretty decent score from Gamespot. I will definately get this if it's cheaper than the usual price (£25 online sounds good).

I personally never used to get lag online with the original, my only gripe was that I only ever used to get French people to play against :D.

Well i've been looking forward to this and am a bit dissapointed with a review of 7.9 but then again i'm thinking to myself 'its just a tennis game though and there's not a great deal you can do with a tennis game so maybe its not so bad after all and 7.9 is fairy good for this type of game'.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first one so i think i'll wait for gamespots review as i tend to find their reviews more accurate on games for me... but will probably end up buying it anyway as its a great 2 player game ;)

Im guessing thats just for n00bs to get used to the game or in recovery situations. Id suspect that you wont win many points playing safe and you'll need to master the many advanced shots to be any good at it.

I for one cannot wait for this!
