Dont forget the new seiries of Top Gear starts tonight at 8 on BBC2.
Yeah, noticed the advert yesterday.
My response . . . . . . .
The wife's response . . . . . . .
Dr Who re-run @ 7:15 - 8pm
Top Gear @ 8pm - 9pm
24 @ 9pm - 10pm
Desparate Housewives re-run @ 10pm - 11pm
Not a bad evening for TV at all!
Is it definitely at 8? On the advert the voiceover said it would be on at 10 but the onscreen text said it would be on at 8.
Seeing this and Massive Machines last week
Challenger 2s are awsome!
Better than the US rubbish
For anyone else who missed it (like me!) it's repeated Tuesday 24th at 7PM on BBC2.
I don't have many positive things to say about the BBC but this is one show I never miss and it was a great opener to the new series
62 tones at 40 mph and with a huge gun, ...
i thought the Toyota football was stunning.
They didn't hold back!
Had me in stitches Though Hammond (Richard) was gonna get rolled for a second
Dom is your sigright as it doesn't make sense to me?
Top Gear Definately show more green cars
In what way? Spelling?
You know what film it's from right?
possibly, it's the "they'll you you coming in" part
Any clues now (think greatest film of all time) on my list anyway.
Probably most peoples top 10
I too thought that was excellent
Nope, i too am at a loss as to what it is
I had to cheat and look on IMDb.
Makes sense now though.
Show me the way to go home, i'm tired and I wanna go to bed. I had a little drink about an hour ago and it's gone right to my head.
topgear was fantastic! great way to kick off the new series, I even wrote to POV congratulating them!
Great episode of Top Gear - as ever.
Even the girlfriend loves this show and she is nowhere near as mad about all things car as me.
By comparison Fifth Gear just annoys me more often than not and I only really watch it for Vicki Butler Henderson
Okay, now finally have it domtheone Thanks to CAS FAN
Also like the Tank and Range Rover scene, boy i would love to have a go at that.
I enjoy Fifth Gear but it isn't in the same league as Top Gear but then again I expect the budget to be a fraction of the BBC's production.
I was drooling like a love sick puppy when Vicki was doing the Rover round up, very nice outfit
It was quite revealing wasn't it
I watch both programmes and I like both.
Tiffs a great driver (you think he'd beat the Stig???) and Plato cracks me up wheneer he's let loose in a fast car. He's like a little kid with a big toy
1 hour show as well for Fifth Gear when it returns.
top gear is great i have allways liked clarkson
I seem to be the odd one out as I don't like Top Gear very much. It used to be about cars but nowadays it is a triumph of style over substance and you learn very little about the cars they are driving as they are too busy trying to be clever.
I normally put it on Tivo then quickly flick over the self indulgent studio bits but last night I just caught the last half hour live when the middle aged Clarkson in his brown sports jacket and brand new jeans was arguing with the small bloke about what was cool and what was not as if his decision was fact and not just an opinion.
In terms of "coolness" clothes manufacturers desperately hope that Clarkson won't wear any of their products as they know that will kill the young people's market quicker than anything but there is never a trace of irony in his voice at all as he really seems to believe his self promotion.
I'm afraid that I much prefer Tiff & Co on Channel 5 as they deal in cars and not the cult of personality
I'm not sure that's true. I would have thought BMW pay Fifth Gear a fortune, just to pretend that their latest cars aren't complete mingers.
Isn't Plato owned and built by BMW?
how true Ian, its more of an entertainment show these days - and no show makes me question the licencse fee like top gear does (Please hum the theme from the dambusters at this point: long time readers will know how much i love the BBC ) i enjoy it but do we really need people in cars playing football? or running from tanks. although sunday's show did look up when they didn't review the latest half million pound supercar
I tend to view it as an alternative car show these days and do fast forward through a lot using Sky+. I think it says quite a lot for the quality of BBC these days when this is one of the few shows I record on BBC.
Most of the programs do not do proper reviews of cars even 5th gear is a bit ladish as Tiff has to take cars on tracks and drive like the vast majority would not drive.
The best car review program use to be Driven, which ether is not on now or I seem to miss it. They compare 3 similar cars from different manufactures and choose a different type of car each week.
Top Gear is not about car revues just entertainment based around car, some of the stuff is entertaining, some is down right stupid.
