Hopefully I will be upgrading my AV amp in a few weeks and will have somewhere between £150-£200 to spend roughly (selling things on ebay to fund it so it all depends how much I get!!)

This is my long list of choices so far:
    Marantz SR4400
    Denon 1804
    Onkyo TX-SR 601E
    Pioneer VSXD-811
    Denon 1803
    Pioneer VSXD-714
    Sony STRDB795
    Denon 1705
    Pioneer VSX-D1011
    Marantz SR5400
    Pionner VSX-D812
    Yamaha RXV450
    Yamaha HTR5640

I would like PL2 for my gamecube and preferably some newer formats DTS-EX etc. with support for DVD-Audio if thats possible, but its not hugely important, I just want something that I won't need to upgrade in a few months!!
THX would be a bonus but I think this may be pushing things too far!!

    Any suggestions/comments please???

    Thanks

    Andrew

do you need, want video switching? do they all have enough digital inputs? Which speakers are you using? 5.1 or 6.1?

Sorry, forgot about the setup, I don't need video switching, somehow I manage to juggle everything about and think it would just confuse me!!

I only need 2 digital inputs for freeview and DVD player (using 1 optical and 1 co-ax at the moment as its all my amp has)

Will be in a 5.1 system using:

    Nokia Freeview (Mediamaster)
    Pioneer DV-444
    Sharp Nicam Video
Wharfedale WH2 Bipolar Rears+Centre (5.1 only for now)
    Kef Coda 7 Fronts
Eltax Sub (small one usually off!!)

At the moment I have an Aiwa amp which I got for £100 from richers but it isn't very good at surround, is missing PL2 and only has spring clips where I would prefer binding posts.

Do any of these have that auto setup mic? Always fancied one of those although its not important really!

I was thinking about a Pioneer to match the DVD player, shame it doesn't make the tea though :)

Just have to hope everything sells now!!

Out of interest, how would this compare to the 811 which is in the unbeatable clearance?

    Thanks

    Andrew
