I am thinking of the following:- AX5, AVR 300, RXV 2400. What do the owners of these amps think?
Surround sound is the priority and not music. Have you found any problems?

if what is important is movies - then i'd put money on the AX5 or Denon's 3805...

I had a 2011 and it was stunning.

 I would go for the ax5i as i have one and it sounds excellent, i previously had a H/K AVR 5500 and boy does it sound better it gives such a good cinema experience:smashin:

With that List I would add the NAD T763. Atleast try to audition this unit. A great Receiver with loads of power able to drive low ohmage speaker loads!

A Denon AVC-A1 variant, secondhand. No question.

Mike.

I agree with Mutley, the 2011 is absolutely sensational. While not an expert, I found it very difficult to detect a huge difference between the 5 and the 2011. You should be able to pick up a second hand 2011 for around £500 or so.

For the last week I have had a home trial with the Denon 3805 and then Pioneer AX5. Picked my AX5 up today - truley stunning with movies :)
