tom tom one xl speed camera warnings

Hi there, first post,just found site.
Recently bought a tomtom one xl, connected it to my pc and downloaded updates etc but lost my speed camera warnings, which i need as I have just started working as a van driver. I did a reset to factory settings and it restored my camera warnings but what happens next time I try to update, will i lose them again and is this normal or are tomtom trying to get me to pay out more cash for camera updates?

Go here and register, pay a couple of quid and get the best speed camera database. Good site, good forums, very helpful always some one to help with problems etc.


On your travels, find a new speed camera, report it and help others.

If you confine yourself to travelling at not more than the legal speed you can dispense with those frequent annoying speed camera anouncements - by turning off that facility

thanks for the very helpful reply.

actually i am no boy racer and rarely exceed the speed limits but as i am now driving on many unfamiliar roads I do not wish to be caught out by unexpected or hidden cameras when i may be going slightly fast, like when linit changes from 50 to 40 etc.
