Just wondering if anyone here is planing to go to this years TGS?
I know most of u live in the UK and would find it hard to come all the way over, but if anyone is planing to go let me know as I am going.
It would be cool to meet up with other AV forums members and have a good time at TGS.

This year they have promised to have PS3 and XBox 360 games playable!!

    I had a thought.
I dont know if this site does anything for profit, but you could think about sending some one over (ie Tejstar) to report on these shows. (E3, TGS.)

I actually used to do that for a UK magazine called PSi2. Unfortunately they went under, but I used to visit shows then write reports and send pictures.

The same way people currently review DVDs, why not have them review Games and shows?

I would be happy to do it for the TGS show like I used to.

Something like this might bring even more people to the site!

I think it’s a great idea AML, however I don’t think the site has the kind of money to send someone over. I think if anyone wanted to do it, they’d have to off their own back. Also, I don’t think the DVD reviewers get paid, although I could be wrong!

I think sending someone over to Japan is a bit much for this site (although if there are people local (like AML in Japan) who could do it then why not), but I think the idea of games reviewers is a superb one!

The DVD reviewers get to keep the review copies of the films that they review and if games reviewers got the same then I would definately be up for being one. I think that it would be another great addition to this site to have a band of Games reviewers and i'm sure that games companies would spare the games given the fact that this forum already gets a good amount of traffic. Let's face it, what's a copy of a game to a games company, when they are getting a free indepth review posted.

That’s quite a good way to incentivise the reviewers,. The problem with reviewing games is that to review them properly means you have to play through the whole game to make an informed opinion and that takes time (15-20 hours). I don’t think I could afford that time (even for a free game) but I’m sure there are people here that could do it, although they’d need the literary skills to match.

As you said, reviewing a game takes a lot of time, but reviewing as single show offering highlights and pics of what was there, (including what demos were played) could be pretty cool!

Since im in Japan already and have some experience reviewing shows  I volunteer to do this years TGS!

Ill be going anyway and probably writing a thread once I get back home after the show, talking about the 360 and PS3.
This year they promise to have playable demos of these next gen games. Im sure a few people will be interested.

Im more than happy to do it at my own cost!

BTW AML are you able to go see Satora Iwata's keynote speach? Apparently he'll be revealing a few things about the revolution

If its on the business day then probably not as thats for press only. I used to get in on that day when i did stuff for PSi2, but since they went belly up I just go for fun.

The other 2 days are for customers and they dont usually make speeches on those days. Just the games and such. ill be going on the saturday probably.

Ill make sure to take pics of 360 and PS3 stuff IF its playable. Ill let you know how good the games are.

Mind you I have my reservations as I am a PC gamer. I imagine the games will look good but maybe not much better than what the PC has now.

Still, IF they have everything set up properly (ie propper Hi def TVs) then I might get blown away by something! :smashin:

 Ill give it a go for ya! :D

    Any other requests?

Ill make sure to take pics, but screen shots are hard to do with lots of kids runing around! They also never come out all that nice. Any advice on how to take good screen shots?
Im using a digital camera, (4mega pixel).
I have a video camera too, but not sure how I would post videos.
