Think this will only be viable when people learn to break in time for the 1st corner!!!!. Otherwise it will just be a waste of time, unless they do it without damage, which would ruin the whole thing.

iamtheone - I understand and agree with you completely. I try to join/host a clean racing room when I get a choice - anyone not playing by the rules is booted. Anyone else frustrated by the stock-car racing mentality out there welcome to add me, I'm on at least four or five times a week.

Racing leagues often state rules that ban bad drivers, and I assume this one would be the same...?

    Lorenzini,

next time i am online i will try and join one of your games. I too am from the clean school of racing and get p***ed off when people just shunt you off on the bends - but sometimes these are unavoidable.

Don't get me wrong - I make mistakes with the best of them and have been known to take out an opponent. The difference is, mine are mistakes. Its the repeat offenders, where its a deliberate tactic, that get booted (after a warning or two). Be good to see you on, Hulkhead :)

your bound to get at least one crash if not more in this
best you dont play with me loopy and the others if you dont like
being bashed thats the whole point if your late on the brake
fell free to use the other car as a buffer to stop you going off track
at the end of the day its only a game made for fun

     :rotfl:

Got to fully agree with that, no offence but how do you guys have fun? fair enough if someone is doing it and over then kick them. but for god sake it's a game crashing in to each other now and again can be a right luagh.

No offence to anyone who's posted here  it's just there is nothing worse than joining a room where people aint saying anything and if you bump them they start to cry and kick you out. how sad is that? :rotfl:

don't get me wrong i love a great stack as much as the next guy and have on plenty of occasions tried late braking only to take out the guy in front and had the same happen to me. Its just the people who do it on purpose when you are trying to pass them that sometimes annoys.

If its a great set of players like you lot then i dont mind but the americans (not all but quite a few) just scream and shout if you so much as touch them and then say nothing if they send me spinning into a barrier......

hope to race some of you soon

Well, this is kind of my point. It may well be your idea of fun to spend time rally-crossing across the massive gravel-traps (more like the Sahara desert if you go far enough!), but I reckon if I've got the skill to slow down for a corner to take it properly, it is not fair game to use me as a brake and send me off the track. IMHO that is not good driving. :nono:

Its my idea of fun that a race is won by good, skillful driving. Bumps and crashes are part of the game, and one of the best parts, but they shouldn't be caused deliberately at every corner. I too hate the moaners who think that every crash is deliberate and worth the boot, but you're missing my point if you think I'm one of them.

You are of course welcome to drive how you want, Uncaged, and good luck to ya. ;) Everyone's got their own style - I'm just speaking up for mine. No offense to any posters!

Don't for one minute think I missed that LFC! :p
Thinking of getting that footy game just for a few sliding tackles now....

    Lorenzini,
Hope Toca hasn't meant you won't be playing MTX anymore?
I've been a bit absent from it all recently but hoping to be back on regularly soon.

    Regards

ToCA has kept me off everything else, TBH! I'm lovin it just a little more than I should. But I've still got Mototrax and I'm always ready for an invite (even cross-game) so if you're on, give us a shout, and I'll join when I can :)

It seems that the majority of the worst offenders don't know where to break for the first corner, no matter what the track is. I was testing my theory out on a server i was hosting and the more laps in each race, the less of a scramble there is for that first bend, people seem to appreciate that there will be more time to work their way through the pack(if they have the skill) or they know that there will be more opportunities for the person in front to completly stack it round and bend so they can pass nice and smoothly while the other car does donuts on the gravel.

Oh and Lorenzi mate, lend us ya telly!!!!!!!

Lorenzini - When do you play the league? I'll be up for it. Although I am still a bit of a novice I do like the DTM and GT Lights.

The league usually runs on Sunday and Wednesday nights, about 10pm, for about an hour. Its turning out to be a cracking time actually, with all skill levels catered for having a good session. Have a go - you never know, you just might like it :smashin: The next set of cars is up for debate at the mo, though I think it may be DTMs (gets my vote anyway).

Just go to the forum posted at the top of the thread, and read some posts, and I'll see you on soon...

iamtheone - Yeeeesss! Gamer Tag = BoingBoing. I've been on TOCA 2 mostly (it's so bloody addictive) also PGR2 and Links 2004. I was trying to build up my points last night and entered a session of 12 with 4 Americans driving the wrong way! and reversing off the start. Very funny, not. TOCA2 is the best game I have ever played, but put it on Live and it is simply awesome. One thing I have found on TOCA2 though is that I can only join about half of the sessions as I keep getting the message "Network conditions may affect your game, do you still want to join?" I'm on Wanadoo 512K.

Lorenzini - I'd love to join in mate. Thanks.

BTW - Are there many old farts like me (32) playing? I couldn't see a Maestro Diesel available in the list of cars!

Heh - I'm not far off mate, I'm 27 (going on 47). Most are around this age in the league. (most ToCA Live racers are in fact, in my experience I've not found too many little brats on this).

If you get a network conditions message, its not your connection thats at fault, but the hosts. It means he's put his room to accept more players than the game recommends, but I can say from experience that this doesn't necessarily mean a bad connection if the host knows what hes doing.

Good to hear you're enjoying it ;)

As Lorenzini says re the network conditions, you can still join that game, it just that you might experience more 'lag' on that server.

I will probably be on live tonight so i will add you to my friends list, my tag is Pooontang btw, and i'll search you out on a game if your on. Not palyed TOCA fro a while so be warned, might not brake in time.

Had a go on this last night for the first time in a week and sucked badly. Great game though. It's though when you haven't had time to practice much as you want to race but don't want to cause pile ups.

I know what you mean Steve, there are so many tracks to memorise it's difficult to be competitive unless you know them well. For instance I have played the GT Lights quite a bit (i think its around Donnington) and its a LOT more enjoyable when you know the track well.

    Pete

    ps love the XBL Tag.
