Would your wife have the plasma if it wasn't for you - I doubt it, so don't let her.

Give her the plasma but pull out all the terminal cards!!!

A general rule of thumb is projector for big screen movies, plasma for big screen television. I wouldn't wanna have to pull out the projector just to watch a bit of news but i've got a 24" widescreen telly sat in the corner for that (of course a plasma in addition to projector would be even better!)

I have a 22" LCD on the wall for Eastenders etc. and the projector fires an 8' wide image above that, which is nice.

I personally felt that a 42" screen would dominate my room too much but not give the required effect when I wanted a cinema.

If its mainly for movies then i would get a pj, i only use mine for movies and gaming and of course for the football this euro championship.

For the very little TV that we watch we also have a 22inch lcd tv.

Man that sucks. It must have got nasty for her to take your screen. Never mind. Personally I dont think they are a replacement for a TV.

Cant you offer her some cash for it ? Its no use to her is it........

.....exactly, but that's not the point is it, especially during a divorce?

Just tell her she's welcome to it cos' you're getting an 80 incher to replace it!! :D

On a serious note, I'd opt for a PJ if it's mainly for films. You'll still need a TV though - IMHO!

Tricky one bruvs, I have a Panny PWD6 and a second hand Panny PT-AE100 bought off these very forums.. I have routed a freeview box to the PJ which is in a second system and the results are good as long as you don't mind a darkened room whilst watching TV in the daytime. All the best.

hmm ok think i have a plan coming together - very interesting what you all say about not for tv use! too much hassel? the hard bit is trying to pick a house that has a suitably shaped room. none of the little 3 bedroomed detached houses i have looked at so far would even hold a plamsa comfortably never mind my monster speaker collection. this is going to be tricky - i like the idea of a small lcd screen for tv and have the screen drop down in front of it. hmmm

    thanks chaps

oh and i dont really mind her getting the plasma - she watches loads of footie (which i am in no way bothered about) and i am more concerned about my sub / amp and speakers which will not date the way the plasma will.

...so, spill the beans, what is the reason for the divorce again!! ;)

Sounds like you'll be hard pushed to find another women with those traits again!! :D

If I wasn't already happily married, I could be interested myself!!

/I'm sure you have a good reason btw/

Mmmm..... Mrs Ritz is asking whether I'd like a new projector...... must be doing something right  .

.... a very good rule...... I never watch movies on the telly, and never watch telly (other than occasional football) using the projector.
