I'm in the process of checking out 3 ccd mini-dv/DVcam camcorders, specifically for making my own short films and documentaries. I've been recommended the Canon XL1s, and the smaller Sony pd150, both of which offer creative possibilities. And now my 'advisors' are heralding the pdx10 as the natural successor to the pd150, as well as having 'true' 16:9. However, i find the audio inputs make the pdx10 slightly unbalanced, and is that 'true' 16:9 really true 16:9? Has anyone had experience or advice on which camera i should plump for?
