Just wanted to see how old the Xbox 360 owners are in here,I am hoping to buy a 360 later today, but sometimes think maybe I am to old to be still playing video games,I am 27 years off age just that one off the mates thinks playin video games is sad so be interested to find out how old people are on here and plays the 360...

    You guys are young....
I had Pong in early 70's and I had my first computer, Commodore PET in 1977.
Yes I still like video games. Only now I can say I buy them for the kids LOL.
    Ok I'm 50!

28 alot of gamers these days are older. It is equal to enjoy a game as it is to enjoy a dvd/tv/cinema. Lets face it alot of games have a better plot than some tv shows i could meantion!

35 - i have a mate who also thought playing video games was a bit sad at our age - that was until he played a bit of pro evo one night after the pub - could barely get the controller off him at the end of the night!
If you enjoy it, go for it - the 360 is an excellent machine and you won't regret it.

    27 ??? IS that all ???

Jesus mate - forget what your mates say, they obviously have no idea of the technological advances in home gaming, and it is very much for everyone.

I adore my 360, and i am 36. Just get one, get on line and join us old uns !

40... and loving it as much I did when I got my first 'pong' game back in the 70's.

Don't forget that there are a lot of games out there with an 18 rating (Gears, Dead Rising etc). I'm pretty certain that I'll be playing Pro Evo 26 when I'm in my 60's :smashin:

A few of my workmates took the p*ss out of me for having a 360,going around the office pretending to shoot people and throw grenades etc.Now that its just after xmas i think half of the guys have phoned me up to help set up the new prezzies they got.I'm 36 and three or four of the grenade throwing workmates are in there 40's.

I suppose the moral is if you can't beat em', join em'

the only trouble with being an older gamer is that there never seems enough time in the day to play as much as you'd like, what with everything else that needs doing etc

    I'm 32 btw

I'm 30 and have been playing since the Atari VCS days. Intend playing as long as i'm still into games in the future, and there's no reason anything should change that.

Your friend is obviously naive, or trying to belittle the idea maybe becasue he hasn't got a console but perhaps wants one and can't afford it.... Just a thought.

Just advise him that the video games market is now worth more money than both the music and film industries. It's therefore no real surprise that many gamers are older because they have grown up playing games when the industry really took off, and also the older player is more likely to have more expendable income...

I know what you mean. Work, Family commitments etc, there just isn't enough time in the day :(

I've got so many games that I've hardly played and ones that i haven't even touched. i sometimes wonder why I still go out and buy the next latest, greatest titles :suicide: It's a nightmare !

In answer to the original question I would say the average age so far on this thread is at least 32! I'm happy then as I'm only 29 and was wondering the same thing. I count myself pretty lucky though as all my mates and girlfriend are into games..........just not as much as me!!

By the way, post up later on and let us all know what you think of the 360 and whether you feel too old playing it!

30 here. My gaming hours have dropped dramatically but I don't see myself giving up any time soon.

Some people just will not accept it. It's simply a form of entertainment. Like watching a movie or turning on the TV. My gf chooses to sit and watch X-Factor or Eastenders for hours on end. I'd rather play PES or Gears. She says gaming is anti-social yet if I utter a word during Eastenders... lol
