ahh thanks for them, seems to be a quite mixed opinion.

Does not seem to mention Marantz amps.

I have a marantz pm7200 which generates tons of heat, its like a small radiator. What would you guys suggest?

See if you can notice a difference in sound between when its hot and cold. I turn my amps off over night but always allow about 2 hour warm up period. Its the first thing I switch on when I wake up and the last thing I switch off when I go to bed.

Does your marantz get hot even when just idling? My rotel and arcam amps are positevely cool to the touch when not doing anything.

    Sorry to butt in,
but my Arcam stays quite warm as if it is working even when it is idling,
the Rega stays cool, only had it quite warm to the touch when running hard most of the day (seems the way it should be to me plenty of head room on the heat production)

Both left on 24/7, no probs for 2 years so far touch wood with the Rega but the Arcam has had a capacitor and diode replaced on its digital board (or something like that)

So I guess in reading what I have just written I should turn the Arcam off everynow and then.......

Don't leave mine on 24/7 during workdays (Mon to Fri), but from Friday evening till Sunday night, my system is always powered up. Even though it errs on the side of warm and sounds excellent to my ears, it sounds even better after being on for an hour or so.
