For those of you that use Flashbang and/or Concussion grenades as your piece of Tactical equipment, and have always wondered what the differences were between the two, and never bothered to look (like me!), here's the definitions as per from Elite site:

    Concussion grenade:
Stun your target and land a kill while they struggle to move and defend. The Concussion Grenade works well in open ground, as you don’t have to worry about disabling yourself as much as with the Flashbang. Throw time is fairly quick, letting you toss and then shoot with minimal downtime. The blast radius isn’t as large as the Flashbang’s, but it does also temporarily disable nearby enemy equipment.

    Flash grenade:
Blind and disorient your target and then rush in for the kill. The Flash Grenade’s blast radius is larger than the Concussion’s, but there’s also a much greater chance of blinding yourself in the process. Best used to affect targets in interior spaces. Enemy equipment is temporarily disabled on impact, allowing you to go in for the kill without the worry of sentries or explosives taking you out.

Think I'll go to Flash as standard from now! (unless there's a Stun weekly challenge on)

it does also recommend that fumblewits should arm Blast Shield Pro too, to stop knocking themselves out!! (really!) :)

I'm not much good with either, but I'm trying to improve on them for the Mach5 challenge as you need to stun or flash a Juggernaut to be able to empty even a RF PM9.

Flash have the biggest radius, but they have to be facing for best effect. If you're going in the way they're facing both are fail, but particularly stuns. Blinded players can also fish for you coming in with the aim assist. Recon is a great perk to use with them, but it gets a bit too much competition from the SoH and Blind Eye.

Didn't realise facing you or not made any difference! Another win for the flash then.

yeah Recon with them is excellent, but as you say, SoH is a must-have starting perk for lots of peeps.
if the grenades were re-stockable (with Scavenger, for e.g.), then it might be worth it. But for 2 hits only, probably not.
That said, Recon Pro is a real doozy too. Especially for the stealthy run/gunners-with-SMGs cos SMGs won't kill with one/two shots, and often I hit enemies as they're running into cover/hiding/round corner, with Recon Pro you know exactly where they, read-time.

Yeah you can stun someone with their back to you and the movement penalty is still good, but with a flash it ideally needs to land in front of them in the direction they're facing. Surface reflections play a part with flashes too.

I'd say out of 10 flash grenade throws about 8 of them end of flashing me as well.

I've just give up all together now and throw portable raders at them instead.
