Hi I am currently using my PS3 for playing our blurays. I have just invested in a Denon 1909, with Kef 2005.3 speaker set up with a nice new av stand...that has a spare shelf on it!!!
Whilst in the av setup frame of mind..I am contemplating buying a standalone Bd player..budgetted suspects being Panny BD35 or 55 or Sony S350 or S550.
Could someone please advise whether any of these would be a worthwhile investment..or should I hold fire until the next release of players..ie would I notice any great improvement over the PS3?
    Any thoughts/comments gratefully received. Thanks

Generally speaking the current players have moved the game on such that the PS3 whilst good, isn't the force to be reckoned with that it once was...

The next gen players won't be as good value as the current ones are for a while.. for the system you have you don't need the S550 or BD55 either, so save a littlre more... personally of the two i would give the nod to the Panasonic but there isn't a lot in it and at the current prices.. hey!

    Sony BDPS350 Blu-ray Disc Player 1080p Full HD: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

But she is right on this occasion, you don't need anything the other ones offer in your system, so save your cash and buy films!!!!

My BDP-S350 was £167.00 from Richer Sounds, multi-region for DVD. When compared to my brother in law's PS3 picture was less grainy on all mediums. It is a good upscaler too! Why wait when items are getting better value.

Has anyone used both the Panny 35 and sony 350? Does one have a better interface? Do both let you view the codec, bitrates etc.? Is one faster?
