    Hello All,

I have just been offered some B&W Cdm9's for under half price of list... Perfect condition, no marks, 7 months old...

I am very very tempted but was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on them?

    Cheers,

    Hus

    Nicolas,

    How so?

I had heard that sonically there was little difference between the 804 and CDM9's. That combined with the added frequency response and volume would make them a better deal.

I had originally decided to go with some CDM1's and a sub but my mid year pocket filler got delayed ever so slightly and my plans got put on hold. But i am now back in the hunt and saw the above speakers. I was thinking that i could delay the purchase of my sub for a while as i with the twin woofers they should provide ample bass (i know they wont go as low) as they can go down to around 30ish which isnt too bad imo.

    Cheers,

    Hus

Ps How is the bryston? Having lots of fun i hope.

If i do bite the bullet and get them... I am sure i will need a poweramp and some new cabling as i know i will need more then my 2011 to drive them properly. Reccomendations?

    Cheers,

I can't comment on the 804s as I've never heard them, but the 805s are certainly substantially nicer so long as you don't try to push them too low.
