    1) SKY+ relies on the EPG start/stop times that each channel have direct control of. In theory every channel can alter it's EPG info to take into account schedule changes, in reality they seldom do, seems to be more of a problem with the terrestrial channels on satellite than the SKY subscription channels.
It has start/stop padding which can give some flexibilty in recording and a manual timer of course for those long live events that can easily over run.
SKY+ is not perfect, but what is:)

    2) Yes. SKY+ can record one channel while you are watching a previously recorded program. Eventually it will be able to record two channels at the same time and playback a recorded program (Been waiting a long time for this promised update to the OS).

    3) Standard 40gig 3.5" IDE, approx 20 hours recording time but varies as it records the bitstream data whose size depends on the bitrates programs are broadcast at. HD is easily upgradable.

    4) Probably a lot but where to start:)

Thinking of changing from Tivo to Sky+ and have a couple of questions.

    1. So Tivo records by the exact time the program is scheduled to begin and end. Consequently you often miss the beginning or the end due to schedule changes. Does Sky+ handle this differently?

    2. With Sky+ you can record one program whilst watching another LIVE program which Tivo cannot do. But can you record a program whilst watching a prerecorded program?

    3. How big is the hard drive?

    4. Is there anything else I need to know? I am aware that Sky+ does not have the intelligent recording capabilities of Tivo.
