Tivo s use a standard figure eight mains lead, available from Maplins, Radio Shack or Currys / Comet for a couple of quid.

Thanks for that. A friend of mine has been donated one by a local electrical shop for a charity auction but all it came supplied with is the unit and the remote and not a lead in sight  .

screw the charity auction - you'll get £20 for it being a curio. Knock it out on ebay or tivocommunity.com (or here) - you'll get a lot more for it to donate to the charity.

One just went for £170 in the for sale ads on here - either that or where is the charity auction? :D
