Hi,

Is it worthwhile buying a Tivo. I am unable to install a Sky dish in my area, and am considering getting one.

Any advicei/info would be appreciated

Thanks

If you cant have $ky then I assume you're going cable.

With only five channels TiVo has a limited role. Its still usefull but there wont be that much to timeshift.

Timeshifting is the main use for me. If x-files is on $ky one and something else on say bravo, then it knows theres a repeat if x-files and so will record the bravo program.

With terrerstrial it will still do that but I think a tenner a month for only five channels may not be cost effective.

If you're going cable, I believe TiVo now works with NTL boxes.

TiVo will connect to any platform - Dtt, Cable or $ky and can be bought for around £150 plus £10/m or £200 one off subscription.
TiVo also has a built in analogue tuner like a video recorder

I have had a TiVo since its launch, and would recommend it to everybody! If you watch TV then you will love TiVo:)

Does it have the ability to change the channels on my old On Digital Phillips set top box? And can you upgrade the hard disk?
