Really enjoyed this and definitely did the DC universe justice.

However, I thought there were 1-2 episodes which seemed a bit like filler and also a couple of episodes seemed to be in the wrong place for the flow of the season.

This didn't spoil it, but it felt kind of strange. Looking forward to S2.

I don't know. The trailer looked utter garbage. Seemed like it was trying too hard to be edgy and dark but just looked naff. Also I see it's only HD, which suggests it's just an American network show they've bought up. But a 9? Last resort stuff. I waded through black lightning, that was terrible. This seems similar.

way to go reviewing a show on the trailer

I have watched and all of this and agree with Cas - this a is a really good watch whether only in HD or not - I must admit I was hoping that Netflix may have got a 4K copy but the HD may be the only ine available from DC

Watched the whole series as it aired in the US. Really enjoyed it and cannot wait for more!

It was made by DC comics for the DC Streaming Service in the US. It's not worldwide so netflix aquired the rights.

I mean that's the point of a trailer. To give you a flavour of the show. There's only so many hours in a day and you have to pick and choose what to watch. Your American style snark is unwarranted.

I binged it over two or three nights once all eps at US pace aired. Very bloody good, not trying hard to be anything, just an unfolding story with a lot more to come. The reason it does the comics justice is it has those guys working on the show. As to the earlier comment on Black Lightning, now that's nothing like this show, but I enjoy that too.

sorry but it was warranted in my opinion "American style" or not - Cas has reviewed the show and given it a 9 - he (as I have also) has watched the whole show and therefore has a view on the merits of the whole series not 2 minutes or so of a trailer

I thought it was very good having watched all 11 episodes but it is your loss and choice to make

Wasn't even thinking about giving this a shot as I just thought it was some teen drama comic book show but after that review im tempted to check it out. I always prefere more adult and darker tone comic book material.

To think there were those silly keyboard warriors whining about Anna Diop being chosen as Kory Anders ...

I really enjoyed this, I can't wait for the next series

Same here, plus no Dolby Vision or 4k which also put me off,, might have to watch this when Mrs Ozzzy is on nights. On another note we're really enjoying lost in space at the moment, even with a couple of really irritating characters.

Snap, it's also telling that the Marvel Netflix shows I struggle to watch 2 episodes back-to-back, let alone 3.

Wow reading this thread shows how far BACKWARDS DV, HDR and Atmos has taken the whole cinema hobby.
We used to watch stuff because it was good, not AVOID it because it wasn't in either of the above formats.
Take Cas' advice on this one...hold your noses and dive in with the dreary HD visuals and terrible 5.1 sound if you can...it's every bit as good as Cas says it is. It's worth roughing it for...

I'm guilty of this, and prioritise 4K content over HD. A good show is a good show though, and this one is excellent.

I'd just prefer it if it wasn't in HD-blur-o-vision.:D

I've just watched the first episode 'blind'. With no internet spoilers or reviews read. Though I did have the trailer 'pushed' to me via email and from that it looked pretty naff. I'm pleased to say it isn't.

With it being DC content, I was both shocked and pleased to see how adult and dark it is. Its easily as dark and as good as Daredevil and watchability wise, a possible replacement for it. Which is high praise indeed. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of S1 and the last season of The Punisher. 9/10

Bit of a mix this, in that it sits between the usual Marvel fair in rating mixed with the R rated material for content - not exactly Watchmen brutal/nudity but not Civil War etc.
Overall I liked it but felt it flagged on a few episodes and the ending wasn't exactly gripping where it felt like its foot slipped off the gas. I'm not too sure of the Big Bad actor having the necessary gravitas.
However, I'll be back for season 2 as the good far outweighed the bad/mediocre moments.

No effing way, you can't finish the season like THAT!

      Also,
Seamus Dever, bloody Kevin Murphy from Castle, is the big bad?!

Despite this anti-climax it was quite the ride, and I bloody well hope that season two is a done deal so we can get some semblance of resolution. :D

You just given a spoiler as the mood of how the series finishes, which isn't fair to those that haven't watched it yet.

Think I'll wait for the next season then if there's no resolution whatsoever to this one lol.
