I need to record 3 hours of FM radio regularly to listen in my car. Does anybody know of (preferably) a micro system which allows you to set up a timer to record radio to Minidisc?

I've been using the Panasonic SCDM37 (from Argos) for recording from FM to MD. It's a very nice unit, too. MDLP2 mode gives up to 2hrs 40 mins recording time, or MDLP4 double that at slightly lower quality.
Any of the other MD micro systems from Argos or elsewhere will do you, too.
Since I got a DAB tuner I've been using the MDS-JB980 deck + external timer for more flexible time-shifting.

    Thanks Kevin

With the Panasonic, how good is the quality of FM recorded on long play x4, reasonable enough to listen in the car?

    Hi yrrab,
Yes, I love this unit. I find the recording on the Panasonic to be excellent, on a par with the Sony deck, even in LP4. The FM tuner is very good, so you'd get nice clear MD recordings.
And it's got more facilities than you could shake a stick at.
Highly recommended, as they say :smoke: .
